Blood Testing Suggestions for NuTriVene®

Trisomy 21 Research recommends³ that individuals who are using Nutrivene® have blood testing completed 6 to 12 months after beginning NuTriVene® and each year thereafter. The following blood tests should be completed: To obtain the most accurate results from your blood test, we recommend following the instructions below.

5 Years of Age and Under

4 hour fasting prior to blood test
No NuTriVene® (Daily Supplement, Daily Enzyme, NightTime Formula) the night before and morning of blood test (If using essential fatty acids and/or Piracetam, these should also be eliminated the night before and morning of blood test)

Over 5 Years of Age

12 hour fasting prior to blood test
No NuTriVene® (Daily Supplement, Daily Enzyme, NightTime Formula) the night before and morning of blood test (If using essential fatty acids and/or Piracetam, these should also be eliminated the night before and morning of blood test)

Suggested Laboratory Tests

  1. CBC (Complete Blood Count) – every 6 months until 6 years of age, then yearly
  2. Thyroid Testing – T3, T4, and TSH every year for life
  3. Atlantoaxial X-Rays (Neck) – at 2 years of age, especially in active children (looking for atlantoaxial dislocations)
There are many laboratories that can complete blood testing. Talk to your physician about the lab they use for further information.
If you have any questions, call International Nutrition, Inc. at (800) 899-3413.
If you would like to have Trisomy 21 Research analyze the blood profile at no charge, send a copy of the blood results to International Nutrition, Inc. It takes Trisomy 21 Research 2 to 3 weeks to complete the analysis.
To obtain the most accurate results from the blood profile it should be done first thing in the morning and preferably early in the week so blood samples will be delivered prior to the weekend.
EMLA cream or IOMED [1 (800) 621-3347, E-mail: customer_service@iomed.com] Numby Stuff®, both available by prescription, are used one hour before the blood drawing to anesthetize the skin.
